Stacks Image 8
Echoes of Twilight (hammered dulcimer, guitar, bass, cello, and vocals), is Constellation’s latest CD. We decided to record it to capture the music that Helen had included in her book that had not yet been recorded. We also wanted to record our Unitarian Universalist anthem, “Church-Like Place." Finally, Eric had a couple of instrumentals that completed the collection!

Chi Beaver Frolic:
Don't know what a Chi Beaver is? Why, it's a mythical creature that dams up the chi in your meridians to cause health problems! But if they actually existed and if they ever frolicked, this is what they'd sound like!

No Place to Tune:
We once had a gig scheduled in Southern Virginia, on our way to a dulcimer workshop. When we asked where Helen could tune, they wrote back and said they didn’t have anywhere for her to tune, and they canceled the gig! That evening, Helen wrote this tune. It turned out that the day we had been scheduled to play was the day that Hurricane Matthew slammed into Virginia, and they had to cancel the entire event. We, however, wound up with a great tune.

Swirling on Moonbeams:
This is one of Helen's slow, dreamy pieces. Listen and be swept away by the swirling melody. Very relaxing!

Marc Meets Medicare:
Helen was commissioned to write this in honor of a friend's attaining the ripe old age of 65. He being a dancer, Helen took the basic, simple melody and ran it through a number of dance forms to come up with the final result.

She Wore a Sequined Hat:
In her role as a music practitioner, Helen often plays for hospice patients. She played regularly for one woman who loved her music and was often moved to tears by it. Helen wrote this tune in her honor. Unfortunately, the woman died before ever hearing it. We're sure that she would have loved it

Autumn Starscape:
This is another of Helen's lovely, relaxing pieces. It conjures up an image of the blaze of stars we often see on our annual trip to Star Island, New Hampshire.

Spring Beauties:
Helen loves to see wildflowers in the springtime. One of her favorites is the spring beauty. This tune (by both of us) invokes the joy of seeing those tiny flowers every spring.

Echoes of Twilight:
Picture yourself in some beautiful, peaceful place. The sun has just set and the night noises are gradually beginning to infuse the evening. Let this tune take you there!

Church-Like Place:
This track is the only vocal in this collection. The title refers to the conundrum Unitarian Universalists sometimes face with naming the place they meet on Sunday mornings: "fellowship," "society," "church," etc. The lyrics deal with the question of why a secular person would choose to spend Sunday morning at such a place, whatever it’s called.
